What is curative hypnotherapy?

I specialise in an advanced form of hypnotherapy known as curative hypnotherapy. Curative hypnotherapy is a term that refers to any type of hypnotherapy treatment that seeks to permanently cure and resolve (rather than temporarily repress) your issue or symptom.

How is curative hypnotherapy different?

Whilst being equally as relaxing and enjoyable as other traditional forms of hypnotherapy, curative hypnotherapy is distinguished from these other therapies by its unique aims and objectives.

Other forms of hypnotherapy often focus on examining the issue or symptom itself, rather than exploring why this issue has arisen or occurred in the first place. Many traditional hypnotherapists use positive suggestion and the enjoyable state of hypnosis to help a person to cope with or manage a problem that has been troubling them - perhaps encouraging them to avoid certain triggers or situations or working towards suppressing or overlaying their symptoms. This can show good short term results up to a point, but top up sessions are often required to keep the issue or symptom under control.

In contrast to this, curative hypnotherapy uses the enjoyable state of hypnosis to full effect – not to control, suppress or merely manage symptoms through suggestion, but to discover the cause at the root of any problem. Curative hypnotherapy is therefore different from many other forms of hypnotherapy in that it does not overlay problems with positive suggestions but instead seeks to locate and then correct the root cause of the issue.

How does curative hypnotherapy work?

This advanced way of working is based on the following principle: if your subconscious mind is creating a certain issue, symptom, reaction, response or behaviour within you (albeit one that you are consciously desperate to be free from), then your subconscious mind has created this for a reason.

Therefore, simply suggesting or encouraging the subconscious mind to behave differently can have only a temporary or partial effect, perhaps providing short-term relief or redirecting the symptom elsewhere. After all, if the subconscious mind has a need or reason to be causing such a symptom (be that a physical, emotional or behavioural symptom), then it will always seek to continue doing so, despite what you may consciously want or what anybody else may suggest.

So wouldn't it instead be worth finding out, from the subconscious mind itself, exactly what this reason or need is?

Curative hypnotherapy does exactly that - by seeking to discover the reason why the subconscious is creating the symptom, curative hypnotherapy is able to work directly with, rather than against, the subconscious mind.

Our work together is really collaborative and is aimed towards identifying, understanding and correcting the underlying subconscious root cause of any given issue. Only by correcting this root cause can a lasting and permanent relief from symptoms be facilitated, allowing you to be entirely free from your unwanted problem rather than merely managing or controlling it.
